Proper news rarely hits the front pages. Yet the proper story isn’t about what message lies behind the colour of the tie the politician is wearing; it’s about what message he or she doesn’t want us to know.
The Proper News exists to give a voice to the (often) voiceless. MPs flipping their second homes is a travesty, but even more so is the fact that 82,000 households in England are homeless. Immigration figures cause outrage, but a “deliberate policy of destitution” for those seeking sanctuary less so. Our governments provide weaponry to “protect” against tyrants, but then arm dictators attacking their people elsewhere.
Our sports coverage looks beyond players’ clichés to discover who’s stitched the kits they’re wearing. We’re also here for you to hear the music we love – bands yet to be discovered, or albums neglected or forgotten by the airwaves.
Welcome to The Proper News.
